THE SHEEP
We run about two hundred and fifty cows on our ranch, but we also raise a lot of sheep. Many of Montana's big cow outfits today were paid for by raising sheep in the early part of this century. When you visit Heart Bar J ranch, we will erase some of those myths about sheep, and tell you the facts!
Sheep require much more handling than cows; they are far more work. But we believe they pay better, and we are in this business to make a living. We also have a serious noxious weed problem in our area of the state, and sheep are browsers, they help control the weeds. We try to be good stewards of our land.

This is Joe. He doesn't like sheep, but he likes being able to pay the bills.

Grant wouldn't be happy to know this picture is being seen by people all over: No self-respecting cowman ever sewed a wool bag.

Mammas and babies.

Here is Karla with one of the babies.

On the way to the wool shed!
