THE HORSES
Much of our land is rough river breaks, and it's pretty tough to gather bulls or cut out yearlings on bikes or 4 wheelers in country that's almost too steep to stand up in!
So we do a lot of riding, and our horses are Quarter Horses. They're bred to watch a cow, turn fast and quick; they have to be stout enough to pull eleven hundred pound cows out of alkali bogs, they have to be steady enough to sling wet, newborn baby calves over the saddle and head for the warm barn in thirty below temperatures, and they have to be gentle enough for Elizabeth and Alderic (our kids) to ride and yours, too! You'll like them!

Little Joe's done it all! He's carried everybody from brides to babies, and he's still working hard today.

Rip's been around a long time, she's enjoying her retirement taking the grandma's and beginner riders out.

Patti Jo's one of our favorites, she's honest, ambitious and pretty to boot! She's raised lots of nice colts for us.

Here's Junior taking a day off and just looking at the mountains. He doesn't get many days off, because he's a pretty good little horse.

Nick goes to town every once in a while to enjoy a good barrel race. That's Margo riding him, she's a wrangler with our day rides.

Crash got his name when he fell out of a horse trailer doing forty miles an hour down the county road. That's our little Elizabeth sitting up there at eighteen months!

Joey drags calves to the fire, wins blue ribbons for the kids at the fair, and she'll give you a nice ride, too!

Maybe an old fashioned buggy ride is more to your taste! We can do that, too!
